Issue: From time to time Windows 7 would generate BCD entry error after bypassing our preboot and halting at BCD repair
Version Fix
Added in 7.1
Environment
Windows 7 32 or 64 bit with ASR ( Automated System Recovery) enabled
Description of Fix
Unfortunately, due to the way SecureDoc works, customers cannot use windows ASR as it may brick the machine. Generally ASR runs automatically if you fail to start windows correctly or by powering off the machine during a boot sequence. When this happens there is a 50/50 chance that ASR could break the machine as it replaces the MBR or does something else which that prevents Wndows bootup. There are legitimate reasons that ASR does need to run to fix a broken windows installation.
With 7.1 we take copy of existing BCD and turn off ASR from Windows. The logs are being created by Windows bcdedit /export "C:\Data\BCD Backup"
When SecureDoc is uninstalled and removed from System , ASR settings are restored
