Error message "9705 Recovery files exist on computer" may appear when starting a disk conversion process (encryption or decryption).
Probable Cause:
Important recovery files for an encryption or decryption process already exist on the computer. SecureDoc will not allow a new conversion process to take place until these files are dealt with (either by the completion of the conversion process or the removal of the files). These files are very important in the event a conversion process is interrupted.
Product version affected:
SD 6.4 or newer versions
Environment (OS/hardware/software):
All Devices All Windows OS
Resolution:
Note: Please DO NOT perform the procedure below if the disk is in the middle of conversion (partially encrypted). Check to ensure the conversion process wasn't interrupted. If this is not the case, then rename the following files: securdoc.ph1 securdoc.ph2 (located in the UserData folder under SecureDoc-NT) for example to securdoc.ph1.old and securdoc.ph2.old. Steps: Step 1. Please contact technical support for the download link to the WMGRTool (32 bit or 64 bit) Step 2. Extract the files to your desktop Step 3. Load a command prompt with elevated rights. Step 4. Enter ‘WMGRTool –d1’ and press enter Step 5. Enter ‘WMGRTool –d2’ and press enter Step 6. Go to (C:\Program Files\WinMagic\SecureDoc-NT\UserData) Step 7. Rename SecurDoc.PH1 and SecurDoc.PH2 hidden files to SecurDoc.ph1.old and SecurDoc.ph2.old, respectively Step 8. Reboot the Computer When the files have been renamed, start the conversion process again.
