How to enable auto-boot on a stand-alone device?
Enable "Enable silent Auto-boot (bypass Boot Logon authentication)” under the Advanced settings section under the Boot Control tab in the
SecureDoc Control Center.
Reboot the computer.
Edit the autologin.ini found in the folder c:\Program Files\Winmagic\Securedoc-NT
Remove the ";” in front of SDUTIL so the following displays:
SDUTIL /U /KEYFILE”USERID” /PWD”PASSWORD” /C”99” /T”99”
The command line switches found in the autologin.ini are:
/u - Enables Auto-boot
/c - Defines the number of times you want to allow the computer to Auto-Boot. Change the number in the quotes to the number of times you want
/t - Defines the period of time you want to allow the computer to Auto-Boot. The numbers are in hours. If you change the number in the quotes to 1, it will allow Auto-Boot for an hour from time the script is run
USERID = The userID used when installing SecureDoc
PASSWORD=Password for the UserID when installing SecureDoc
Eg, if the installing userID is derekt and the password is 12345, you can use the following line to bypass PreBoot 99 time for 99 hours.
SDUTIL /U /KEYFILE”derekt” /PWD”1234” /C”99” /T”99”
Once the autologin.ini has been modified and saved, please follow the procedure below:
- Start cmd.exe with Windows Administrative Rights
- In the command prompt, change directory to c:\program files\winmagic\securedoc-nt\
- Run the following command
Sdbat.exe AutoLogin.ini
- If this is successful, you should get a message indicating it’s has ran successfully.
- If you open the AutoLogin.ini now, the ‘S’ in SDUtil should change to a ‘;’, so ;UTIL. Please remove the userid/password at this point from AutoLogin.ini.
- Please now power off the machine
- Power on the machine and it should now bypass PreBoot for 99 times.
