Segmentation fault after boot logon

Symptom

1) The drive is encrypted by SecureDoc.

2) At boot logon, the user enters the username and password.

3) The computer fails to boot into Windows - pre-boot logon shows the error "segmentation fault".

Cause

This issue is specific to Seagate DriveTrust hard drives and Olivetti Olibook computers.

Resolution

In the SecureDoc Control Center (Boot Control->Advanced Settings->Advanced Settings->Boot Parameters), set Boot Parameters to

"root=/dev/ram rw ramdisk_size=262144 noapic nolapic nosmp hpet=disable pci=noacpi acpi=off console=null"
