Issue: Prolonged (5 minute) delay when device resumes from Hibernate
Affects:
This was detected on devices having an Intel wireless AC-8260 (WiFi) adapter that were using the Intel Version 18.32.1.2 driver.
Cause:
Upon starting up Windows an older WiFi driver (Version 18.32.1.2) from Intel reacted poorly since the WiFi adapter hardware had been “touched” by the SecureDoc Linux Pre-boot.
The root cause (in this case) was when Windows is resuming from hibernation, this Intel driver finds the WiFi adapter is in an unexpected state, resulting in a stall of all core processors - which appears as hanging or an extended delay.
Solution:
Install the newer driver for Intel wireless AC-8260 adapters (available from the Intel website) – Use version 19.1.0.
It will resolve this hanging issue, which exists when using the Version 18.32.1.2 Intel WiFi driver.
