Lenovo S30, C30, D30 devices can "hang" at “Please wait. This might take several seconds…”, Pre-Boot Logon does not appear.

Symptom:

Upon Installing SecureDoc with V5 Pre-Boot on a Lenovo S30, and presumably C30 or D30), the system will hang on boot at the prompt “Please wait.  This might take several seconds…”  This text appears after BIOS POST, and before the SecureDoc Boot Logon screen would normally appear.

Resolution:

It is recommended by WinMagic to enable “SUSAM” in the SecureDoc Profile's by setting the SUSAM value to 1.  This option can be found in the Boot Configuration panel of the Profile, near the bottom of the panel.

As an alternative, if the customer does not wish to enable SUSAM and is not using the SCU controller on the affected system:

  1. the customer should ensure that the disk drive is plugged into SATA ports 0-3 (Orange or Red ports) and...
  2. enable the bios option “Disable SCU devices.”  This will allow SecureDoc Preboot V5 to load correctly.
