Issue:
The error 1001.InstallUtilib.dll: Unknown error appears when installing SES.
Symptom:
The installation failed and rolled back
Product version affected:
SES versions 5.3 SR3 and newer
Environment:
Windows Server 2008 and 2012
SQL 2008 R2
Resolution:
The error was with the version of .Net run by the server verses what the installer required (3.5.1 vs. 4.0 respectively).
Dot net framework 4.0 needs to be installed in order to fix this issue.
