Single Sign-On issue on Windows 8
Clients may have single sign-on issue with Windows 8 devices containing SED and regular SATA drives. Clients may have issues having to authenticate twice, once at pre-boot and then again at the Windows login screen. This behavior does not show up on a Windows 7 computer with SED drives. The SecureDoc profile is configured for single sign-on.
Solution:
Windows 8 has "Fast Startup" feature which is hibernation instead of reboot (when the system shut downs and restarts). SD currently doesn’t do SSO after hibernation and thus there’s no SSO if Windows uses Fast Startup.
SD 6.3 and later should do SSO even after hibernation and take care of this Fast Startup feature.
Clients with Windows 8 devices on SecureDoc 6.2 or older, should disable Fast Startup in the Power Options in the Control Panel. It is enabled by default.
