1337 Black Screen After V5 PreBoot Authentication on Win8 Legacy (BIOS-mode) client running inside VMWare

Environment

VMWARE Win8 legacy (BIOS)

Symptoms

Instead of moving forward to boot the operating system, a black screen appears following successful authentication in SecureDoc V5 Pre-Boot (PBL).

Solution 1

Disable floppy drives in BIOS setup for that Virtual Machine

Solution 2

Use Y-Mode=4
