Use of “Change initial password” can affect second (and subsequent) Admin accounts’ ability to log into SES Console in SES V6.5

Issue:

A limitation that affects additional SES Administrators was introduced in version V6.5 of the SES Console, as follows:

Where the “Change initial password” global option is set/enabled, when a second (third, etc) SES administrator keyfile is created and saved with a keyfile password, at the point that this new Admin user tries to log into the SES console (after having changed the initial password) an error message “The password entered is incorrect. Try again.” is displayed, preventing that SES Admin from logging in.

Work-around:

When prompted to change the initial password, perform the following steps:
1.  Launch the SES console.
2. Browse and select the  desired keyfile
3. Login with the selected keyfile.  A message “ Initial password must be changed now!" is displayed.
4.  Click the OK button. The “Change keyfile password” screen appears.
5. Change the password.

The additional steps required to complete this work-around are:
6. On the SES Console menu bar, select Database -> Change keyfile password
7 . Enter the old password
8 . Enter a new password, then re-enter to confirm the new password
9 . Click OK.

The new password can now be used to login to SES console.

WinMagic is targeting to have a correcttion for this issue in V7.1 of SES, or earlier if possible.
