Can I run Windows Restore after encrypting my hard drive?

Scenario

If my disk is already encrypted with SecureDoc, can I use Windows Restore my drive (non-Lenovo)?

Answer:

No - Windows Restore will simply replace the existing files with the files from the backup. The system will be restored to a point before SecureDoc had been installed, however the hard drive will still be encrypted. This means that you will have no way of reading the data on the hard disk.

If you have already run Windows Restore and are locked out of your computer, please contact WinMagic Technical Support.
