For UEFI devices, BlueCat DHCP Servers do not provide an IP Address at either Pre-Boot or PXE boot.
Problem: If: a) a SecureDoc-protected device that has UEFI (instead of BIOS) is at Pre-Boot and b) the DHCP Server in use within the enterprise is a BlueCat DHCP server Then: Endpoint devices will not get an IP Address lease through DHCP when the device is at Pre-Boot (e.g. using PBConnex) NOTE 1: The same will occur if using PXE boot (e.g. if installing SecureDoc OSA using PXE). NOTE 2: In general with any use of PXE on UEFI devices this will be an issue until the solution is applied (see below), regardless of whether one is using SecureDoc OSA. Scenario: When in an xHA cluster, after a failover an error is encountered: "dhcpd: send_packet: Operation not permitted", and no IP address leases are being served. IMPACT: The impact is critical as DHCP is not serving any leases.
