1016 What are the available pre-boot function keys: V4 Boot Logon versus V5 Boot Logon

NOTE: Even if V5 boot logon has been defined, the user may be able to get to the V4 Boot Logon (unless this has been blocked by the Administrator).

For Version 4 Pre-Boot (unless blocked, available by pressing ‘a’ when the boot loader loads):

F2 – Password Hint
F4 – Hardware Configuration Menu
F5 – Tablet PC Configuration
F8 – Challenge Response
F9 – Self Help Password Recovery Questions and Answers

F1, F3, F7, F10, F11 and F2 have no functions.

To access the Boot configuration menu, please enter the SES Administrator username and password, then press F8; this will bring you into the Boot Configuration Menu. Only an SES administrator has access to this option screen.

For Version 5 (Linux) Pre-Boot:

F2 – Password Hint
F3 – Wireless settings (configuration to connect to wireless networks)
F4 – General SecureDoc machine information. (Network info, SecureDoc info, Changing of Pre-Boot Keyboard Layout)
F7 – Collect SecureDoc Pre-Boot Logs
F8 – Challenge/Response
F9 – Self Help Password Recovery Questions and Answers
F12 – SecureDoc Web Browser

F1, F5, and F6 have no functions.

In SES 5.3 SR1a, all options are accessible by SecureDoc users and administrators.
