Error: HTTP 500 error on SES Web UI. “An unsecured error or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party” Users may not be able to log into the SESWeb Console.
Cause: SES and Database/AD time out of sync
Product Version Affected: All SES versions
Environment: Windows 2008 or newer Windows SQL 2008 or newer
Troubleshooting: 1. Obtain the SESWebApptrace.svclog and SDConnexAppTrace.svclog 2. Obtain the Stack Trace 3. Obtain the screenshot of the error 4. Information of the Windows Server OS, IIS and SQL Server versions
Solution: Confirm that the times are indeed out of sync (both time and zone). Synchronize the clock and/or configure the clients' servers of same NTP server. The SES server and SQL/AD server times may be off, or have different time zones, or may have same time zone but so times were really off. See more information at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1484601/wcfan-unsecured-or-incorrectly-fault-error In general if the times are off more than 5 minutes it could happen. Fixed the times, and check if the user can now login to the SES Web console.
