SDConnex/ADSync won’t start - Event log message containing “system.FormatException: Invalid hexadecimal string format"
It may occur that, upon configuration, the SDConnex or ADSync Services will not start. Inspection of the Event Log may reveal a message containing the following information:
system.FormatException: Invalid hexadecimal string format
While it is uncertain why this happens, it could be that upon being stored the path to the Key File is somehow corrupted.
In the configuration panel, browsing to and locating the Key File again, and then re-entering the password to log into the Key File will fix this issue. Save your changes, and the service(s) will start correctly thereafter.
