1369 SDConnex has a hight active session count

Description


From time to time SDConnex service will peek at very high Active Session counter.

This would cause notification to be sent to SES admins (if this was configured) to administrators.

Administrator can then manually reset the counter back to normal

Troubleshooting

We used Performance Counter tool to capture single threads. This can be accomplished using PerfCounterGather.zip.

This tool needs to be actively running ,saving all the logs at reasonable interval(can be customized later on)

It will also display at what times the sessions started to climb and when they reset back to normal.

we can then pull logs from SQL Event logs to match the time stamp to find out what has occurred during that interval

Analysis
In this particular case the client had a lot of device performing IP address change at the same time. This would be explained because they connect to Windows but then connect to VPN client
