UNDERSTANDING THE LIMITATIONS AND HANDLING FOR EXISTING SDOT FV2 CLIENTS
IMPORTANT: The results below may vary, thus WinMagic is recommending our customers uninstall SDOT FV2 from existing devices before upgrading to 8.2 SR1.
For customers who have upgraded to SES 8.2 SR1 before removing SDOT FV2 from existing Mac devices, the following information should be known:
The SDOT for FV2 options in the Mac profile will no longer be available in 8.2 SR1. Existing SDOT FV2 packages will be converted to SD FV2.
Upgraded SES 8.2 SR1 servers can still manage existing SDOT FV2 devices – with limitations.
SES can still be used to uninstall existing SDOT FV2 devices, or SDOT FV2 can be uninstalled locally. Please see instructions here in the section titled "To uninstall SecureDoc from a OS X/macOS Device."
For customers who have already deployed SDOT FV2 to Mac devices, it has been tested and confirmed these devices can be upgraded to macOS 10.13.5 successfully. However, it’s recommended to remove SDOT FV2 prior to the macOS upgrade.
DOES THIS AFFECT CURRENT LICENSING
No, SDOT FV2 does not have separate licensing or pricing. The current Mac licensing is unchanged in SES.
