As you know, Microsoft announced the availability of Windows 10 April 2018 Update, also known as "Redstone 4", RS4 or version 1803, on April 30th 2018.
As a Microsoft Partner, WinMagic has successfully validated our SecureDoc client on all available Windows releases. However, in certain cases, we recommend that customers temporarily delay their update until the upcoming release of SecureDoc 8.2 Hotfix 1 (HF1). WinMagic will provide an update on the release of SecureDoc 8.2 HF1 within the first two weeks of June.
Please Note: this notice does not affect customers planning to install new instances of SecureDoc on Windows 10 RS4. It applies only to upgrading systems with SecureDoc already installed.
- Upgrade to RS4 on systems with Secure Boot enabled: In this case, customers should follow step-by-step instructions outlined in Knowledge Base Article 1752. However, in most instances, no additional steps are required.
- Upgrade to RS4 on systems with Self-Encrypting Drives: After upgrading these devices with SecureDoc installed, Single Sign-On (SSO) and Password Sync features will not work. In this case, we recommend customers delay their RS4 upgrade until SecureDoc 8.2 HF1 is available.
- Upgrade to RS4 with SecureDoc File Encryption installed: Windows Update will fail and will not complete successfully. In this case, we recommend customers delay their RS4 upgrade until SecureDoc 8.2 HF1 is available.
For Customers that cannot delay upgrading to Windows 10 April 2018 Update, please contact WinMagic Technical Support for more information regarding possible workarounds.
