MSI Installers and SecureDoc Version 8.2
To reduce the SES Installer to a manageable size, the .MSI SecureDoc client installers are no longer embedded within the SES Installer, and must be downloaded separately. This was required because the installation tool WinMagic uses (InstallShield) has a 2GB maximum file size, and SecureDoc Enterprise Server had grown to the point it could no longer fit within that limitation.
The .MSI Client installation files are typically used for scripted installations or software distribution tool-based installations. Customers that utilize .MSI installation files must download the .MSI files from the links below, and then insert them into the SES installers folder structure after installation or upgrade of the SecureDoc Enterprise Server.
Instructions:
Download both .MSI files from the following links.
For 32-Bit Systems
http://downloads.winmagic.info/SD8.2/ReleaseMsi/SecureDoc_32.msi
For 64-Bit Systems
http://downloads.winmagic.info/SD8.2/ReleaseMsi/SecureDoc_64.msi
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place both these downloaded .MSI files in the SES Binary Installation files directory (normally this will be: C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMagic\SDDB-NT\Binary Installation Files\WindowsPC
- Then, for customers that are upgrading their SES Environment:
- Manually copy these .MSI files into each Windows installation package, or
- Simply right-click on each Windows client installation package and select the “Create package files” option in the menu that appears. Doing this will automatically refresh the installation package, replacing the .MSI and .EXE Installer executable files by copying the "master" copies from the Binary Installation files folder mentioned in step 1, above.
