1010 Will SecureDoc Affect an SMS Update that Requires a Reboot

Prev Next

Yes - due to the nature of full disk encryption, authentication is required at pre-boot before Windows can start. This process will affect the update, as SMS or any other file distribution programs won't be able to log back into Windows. However, SecureDoc offers a feature called "auto-boot" to work with these programs. Auto-boot simply has the computer automatically log into Boot Logon without any user interactions. This process allows SMS or any other file distribution programs to reboot the computer, and then log back into Windows to finish the updating process.

Auto-boot can be configured to boot a set number of times, or for a specific length of time. For more information on the auto-boot feature, please refer to the SES manual.
