Compatibility issues with Micron M500 running MU02, MU03 Firmware
Through stress testing the OPAL functionality of the Micron M500 running MU02, MU03 firmware, it has been determined that using SecureDoc and hardware encryption on this drive will cause issues. A "TCG__NO_SESSION_AVAILABLE” error will occur randomly when reading/writing to SMBR. It is not recommended to use the Micron M500 with MU02 or MU03 firmware. This issue has since been resolved by upgrading the firmware to MU05 on this drive.
Furthermore, the M510, M550, and M600 do not experience this issue.
