Unable to deselect "Enable machine to communicate with SDConnex at preboot" in a SecureDoc OSA for SEDs profile
Summary
In the 5.3 versions of the SES, we have a new product called SecureDoc OSA for SEDs (Self-Encrypting Drives). OSA allows you to protect a device that has an SED drive in it, without having to install a full SecureDoc client. This enables you use any Operating system, with the device and not worry about being able to encrypt it.
In some cases, even though you un-check the option "Enable machine to communicate with SDConnex at preboot" in the SecureDoc OSA for SEDs profile, it will actually remain enabled.
If you do not wish to use PBConnex, or need SecureDoc OSA for devices that will not be connecting to the network once they are deployed, please follow this article.
Solution
Once you have the package files, open up the SDProfile.spf file using notepad
Look for PreBoot_TCPIP_Authentication
Change the value (currently 1) beside this setting to a 0 and then save the changes to the SDProfile.spf file. |
