Issue:
An client-device incompatibility was discovered between SecureDoc V6.4SR1 and the Chrome (Google) browser, which would prevent the Chrome Browser (only) from launching successfully if the SecureDoc Client software was configured with a Device Profile that enables File and Folder Encryption (FFE).
This issue was detected on devices running the Windows 7, 64-bit operating system, but other operating systems/versions may be affected.
This issue does not affect either Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) or Mozilla FireFox browsers.
Solution:
This problem was resolved in SES Version 6.5, and affected customers are encouraged to upgrade to V6.5 (or a later version, if available).
For customers that have client devices at V6.4SR1, and who use both the Chrome browser and File and Folder Encryption (FFE), please contact your Account Manager to arrange to get V6.5, and then upgrade affected client devices to V6.5
Work-Around:
As an immediate work-around, if it is possible to disable File and Folder Encryption by sending down a new Device Profile that has that option disabled, the problem will be resolved.
Alternatively, if upgrading to V6.5 is not an option in the short term and if FFE is a required element in your Security schema, then WinMagic suggests avoiding Chrome in the interim, and use another browser until it is possible to upgrade the SecureDoc client software to V6.5
