Access Integrity Security - Credential change awareness

While SecureDoc performs an invaluable service ensuring that data is protected by encryption, and that user access to SecureDoc-protected devices is locked down and governed by permitting only specific users to authenticate at Pre-Boot, there are other risks that any security-conscious organization should be aware of and include in its overall security design.

Credential Change Awareness

There may be situations where you may have some suspicion that your password / information has been compromised.
In such scenarios, WinMagic recommends you change your password immediately, and to notify your manager, Security Administrator and Domain Administrator for further investigation.
As a regular "best practice", you should change your password regularly to ensure that anyone observing you for a long period of time does not get the opportunity to try to figure out your password through typing cadence, or by watching or recording your finger movements.

NOTE: Upon logging into a SecureDoc-protected device after an absence, if you notice that after logging into Windows or the Mac OS a message appears indicating that there has been a number of failed login attempts against the device (and you know you did not mis-type your own password), then as above, recommend you change your password immediately, and to notify your manager, Security Administrator and Domain Administrator for further investigation that there may have been attempts by unauthorized persons to try to authenticate to your computer.
