Device Integrity Security - Keeping host system free of malware

While SecureDoc performs an invaluable service ensuring that data is protected by encryption, and that user access to SecureDoc-protected devices is locked down and governed by permitting only specific users to authenticate at Pre-Boot, there are other risks that any security-conscious organization should be aware of and include in its overall security design.

By itself, SecureDoc does not detect or mitigate the presence or actions of Malware, Viruses or Trojans.  In order to ensure customers are protected against such threats, WinMagic strongly recommends the use of devices that are centrally managed so that only the administrators have the permission to install and update client’s software.

Ideally, normal users should not have the rights necessary to install software, and in certain organizations, users will not have the right to store files locally on their computers.

Such measures will prevent the users from inadvertently installing any unwanted/malicious software and also enables the administrators to keep the anti-virus software up-to-date.
