Title:
Settings in KnowConfigs.xml do not apply successfully for SD versions 9.1.102.293 and older on Windows 11 (24H2) without WMIC
Background
The issue arises because SecureDoc KnownConfigs.xml depends on WMIC for hardware detection, which is deprecated in newer Windows builds.
Environment (OS/hardware/software):
SES Server up to v9.1 SR1
All Windows Server OS
All Devices
Windows 11 (24H2)
Workaround:
- For versions 9.2 and above: No action is needed. KnownConfigs.xml supports devices with or without WMIC, as hardware detection has been updated to eliminate the dependency on WMIC.
- For versions below 9.2: WMIC is required for KnownConfigs.xml to function. If WMIC is missing (e.g. on Windows 11 (24H2)), users must manually install WMIC before deploying SD Client to prevent configuration issues.
