Client Device Unable to Communicate with SES Server After Upgrade

Topic

After upgrading a client device from SecureDoc v9.0 SR3 to v9.1 build 1260 via Microsoft Intune, the client is unable to establish communication with the SES Server.

Environment

  • Software: SecureDoc client upgraded from v9.0 SR3 → v9.1 build 1260
  • Hardware: Client device with three hard disks
    • Boot disk: OPAL SED, configured as disk #3
    • Disk #2: Contains a WMSD partition (1GB) created during a previous SecureDoc installation

Issue

The WMSD partition does not have sufficient free space.

  • Required space must be sequential.
  • The existing 1GB partition is too small to accommodate the necessary files after the upgrade.

Workaround

  1. Log in to the SecureDoc Control Center using a SecureDoc administrator account.
  2. Temporarily change the Pre-boot mode to PBU (Pre-Boot for UEFI).
  3. Update the Boot Logon.
    • PBU relies on multiple small files for the WMG.
    • This configuration allows the process to succeed on the limited WMSD partition.
