WinMagic has added the support for the Validity Finger Print reader, which ships configured with some HP business notebooks, to our road map for 2014. Support is targeted for our SecureDoc for HP version 7.1 release mid-year. NOTE: This is covered in another Knowledge Base Article - please search for "Validity".
The existing version (Pre-7.1) of SecureDoc currently supports the UPEK / Authentec fingerprint sensor that ships configured with the 2012 / 2013 Lenovo models that end in "30” (for example T430) with Windows 7 only. Unfortunately with the acquisition of Authentec by Apple the 2014 models ending in "40” (e.g. T440) use different sensors that are not supported by SecureDoc.
